Where Do You Go When Its Dark?

This is an slightly newer photo from the same series as this one [link] It was taken on the same day, but I say newer because I haven't submitted this one before. The idea is the same

THE PROCESS:
This is an old photo that I took back in July of 2006. About a month before this photo, I saw a lamp like this at a store somewhere in Dana Point. I was going to buy it there, but it was like $75!!! So I went online and tried to look for a cheaper one and WOOHOO! I dug a hole in my frontyard and planted this lamp into the ground. I was a little scared that the moisture from the soil might burnout the lamp, but luckily it didn't. Ironically about 30 mins before I took this picture the power went out in my entire neighborhood! I don't think it was me or I hope it wasn't, but these things happen all the time.

THE IDEA:
When I first saw this lamp, my first thought was, "that would look crazy if it looked like the lamp was growing out of the ground!" I was thinking in terms of something small illuminating in a large dark place. I think we get scared...a lot...more than we think we do, maybe we just don't realize it, but what do I know I'm no Doctor.Nonetheless, we need a little courage sometimes don't you think? To stand out, do what's right or maybe you just need to get something off of your chest. I wonder what it takes to actually go through things like that? Because if we're scared enough we don't do anything about it. Anyway...I took this as a motivator I guess, to get things done.

I think there may be some problems with my monitor, so if you see any weird blotches on my photos just point them out to me and I'll do my best to fix them
